PRET-A-PORTER
The evening of 27 May saw a glamorous fashion affair before the screening of the classic Robert Altman’s film Pret-a-Porte. Acclaimed local fashion designers Cameron Foden, Clive Rundle, Emma Coleman, Heath Nash, Stephan Martin, Stiaan Louw, Tiaan Nagel, Missibaba and Klûk and CGDT all came together in celebration of the Labia’s 60th birthday. The show was styled by Cara van Wyk, and sound mixed by Phil Kramer.

BAD BOY BUBBY
Friday 29 May was feast of freaky, well suited to the unusual world of Bad Boy Bubby, the film of choice for the closing event. The Noddy Collective presented their debut screening of Noddy + clapping along with characters from the movie interacting with guests in the foyer before they enter. The experience was followed by the after party held at EVOL.

CREATE
Over the course of two months, the creative collaborators met, planned, schemed, plotted and updated regularly with visits to the Labia on Orange for inspiration, and to check details. LABIA CELEBRATION OPENING NIGHT
Guests were invited to the 60th birthday party of the Labia, 60 years to the day that the theatre was opened by Princess Labia in 1949. To honour the occassion, Harold rolled out the punch, Charly’s Bakery supplied the most delicious and exquisite cake, Breakfast Included jazzed life up, and guests came dressed in their best 1940’s finery.
